WIE: Being an Effective Manager

The Mississauga Chapter Women in Engineering Committee is pleased to present Jodi Diamant Boustead, Chief Engineer, Air Worthiness and Certification, Pratt and Whitney Canada. Jodi will speak on Being an Effective Manager and will highlight her experiences in the public and private sector.

Jodi has been involved in aeronautical product design and certification since graduating from the University of Toronto Aerospace Engineering program in 1987. She is currently the Chief Engineer, Airworthiness and Certification at Pratt and Whitney Canada (PWC), and is responsible for the company engine certification and design approval delegation systems in compliance with ICAO and Canadian Civil Aviation regulations. In addition, she is co-lead on Safety Management System implementation at PWC.

Prior to joining PWC, she was with Transport Canada Aircraft Certification for 18 years in a number of positions relating to aeronautical product certification, delegations and regulatory and policy development. From 2002 until 2006 she was the Chief, Engineering Division of the Transport Canada Aircraft Certification Branch, managing a group of 60 engineering certification specialists.

She has been extensively involved in Canadian and international rulemaking processes relating to Aeronautical product design standards, certification and delegation processes and Safety Management Systems.

Ms. Diamant Boustead has a B. A. Sc and M. A. Sc. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Toronto.

There will also be an opportunity for networking with other members. Light refreshments will be served.
