Changing Landscape of Ontario’s Utility Industry
Dan Pastoric, , P.Eng., Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer at Enersource, will discuss about Alectra and the changing landscape of Ontario’s utility industry. He will outline the journey that brought together Enersource, Horizon Utilities and PowerStream as one company and the subsequent acquisition of Hydro One Brampton. Also, he will outline the benefits for customers, communities, and shareholders.
Mr. Pastoric has been in the energy sector since 1982. He has over two decades of experience in senior executive roles within the public and private sectors of the electricity industry. Mr. Pastoric was appointed to the Ontario Government’s Market Design Committee with the mandate to redesign the electricity sector. He has served on the inaugural Board of Directors of the Independent Electricity System Operator and was elected Chair of the Board’s Industry Stakeholder Committee.
Mr. Pastoric joined Enersource in October 2008 as EVP & Chief Operating Officer during which Enersource won two Utility Excellence Awards and achieved over 3 million hours without a lost time injury. In 2014, Dan became the energy industry’s first Chief Customer Officer responsible for increasing shareholder value in both the regulated and non-regulated businesses, as well as leading corporate strategy and M&A activities.
In 2017, Mr. Pastoric has been appointment to one of the senior leadership positions of the newly formed Alectra Utilities Inc. Alectra is the 2nd largest municipally owned electrical distribution utility in North America.
Mr. Pastoric is a Register Professional Engineer in Ontario and holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree, Masters in Business Administration degree and a Charter Directors designation from McMaster University.
