Region of Peel Hanlan Water Project
December 4, 2013 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Registration starts at 6:30pm, presentation starts at 7:00pm.
The Hanlan Water Project is the largest and most extensive watermain initiative the Region of Peel has ever designed and constructed. When it’s completed the Hanlan Water Project will:
- Move 400 million litres of water each day through the Hanlan Feedermain
- Move 120 million litres of water each day through the Mississauga City Centre Subtransmission Watermain
That’s enough to fill 408 Olympic swimming pools every single day!
The project includes installing the 8 feet diameter Hanlan Feedermain and 5 feet diameter Mississauga City Centre Subtransmission Watermain. Anthony Parente, P.Eng. will describe technical challenges of the project.
Mr. Parente is a graduate of Ryerson University’s Civil Engineering in 1992. Anthony spent 7 years in consulting between CH2MHill (former Gore & Storrie) and GTAA where he worked on the redevelopment of Pearson Airport. Mr. Parente joined the Region of Peel in 2001 as a project manager and in 2003 became the Manager of Capital works for the Region’s Transmission and Distribution system. Mr. Parente manages the Region’s construction of linear systems, pumping station, reservoirs and generation facilities. He also manages the Region’s linear condition assessment and rehabilitation program.
