The Non-Technical Aspects of Engineering by Araceli Hernandez, P.Eng.

The Women In Engineering committee of the Mississauga Chapter of Professional Engineers Ontario would like to invite you to participate in a seminar to discuss the topic of the Non-Technical Aspects of Engineering. This event will take place on May 29, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Tomken Arena, Auditorium in Mississauga.
The speaker for the evening will be Araceli Hernandez, FEC, PMP, P.Eng., Program Manager AME NPD at Honeywell.
Araceli is a Professional Engineer with over 13 years experience in the Aerospace Industry. She has worked in the field of Landing Gear repair and now in Program Management of the Auxiliary Power Control Generators for Honeywell. Araceli has served as Chapter Chair several times for the Hamilton-Burlington PEO Chapter and has also led other sub-committees since before obtaining her P.Eng. licence. In 2011 she was the recipient of an FEC certificate (Fellowship Engineers Canada) which is awarded to all Chapter volunteers after 10 years of service.

8:30 – 9:00 p.m. Closing remarks
A question and answer period will close the event. The presentation will discuss:
- How to obtain engineering experience if you have completed your education outside of Canada;
- The role of Soft Skills in your Engineering Career;
- Networking and Social Media;
- Volunteering Opportunities.
Please register by May 26, 2014. Registration is on a first come, first served basis.
There is no cost to attend this networking event and it is open to male and female attendees from any PEO chapter. Light refreshments will be served.
