The Women In Engineering committee of the Mississauga Chapter of Professional Engineers Ontario would like to invite you attend the Fall event topic “Engineer as Writer”, listen and mingle with Prad Mitra Chaudhuri, P.Eng.

Prad’s four decades of professional career, all of it in Canada and in the United States, began with hydrocarbons that we build with—plastics (GE), polymers (Polysar) and petrochemicals (Petrosar)—and ended with hydrocarbons that we move with—gasoline, diesel, and lubricating oils (Petro-Canada). Following retirement from Petro-Canada in Y2K, Prad started up a consulting company, PRADCO INC., and worked in Pittsburgh for PARC Technical Services Inc., and in Toronto with SNC Lavalin, TWD and Petro-Canada. He has published in Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, AICHE journal and Oil and Gas Journal. Prad holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Windsor.

Following a life-changing event for him and a life-altering event for the eldest of his three children, Prad turned his attention to preventable medical mistakes that affect numerous lives worldwide. His experience resulted in a book—“Medical Malady: Survival in a Minefield of Medical Mistakes”.

Prad received his creative writing and book publishing training at the Humber School of Creative and Performing Arts in Toronto, and in community-based writer’s organizations. He is affiliated with engineering organizations—PEO, AIChE, CIC/CSChE—and writer’s organizations—WEN and WCDR. He lives in Mississauga with his wife of 44 years.

There is $5 for administration and it is open to male and female attendees from any PEO chapter.

Light refreshments will be served.

There will be prize draws at the end of the presentation.
