Surgical Robotics

Event Summary:

The Women In Engineering committee of the Mississauga Chapter of Professional Engineers Ontario would like to invite you to attend special technical seminar of “Surgical Robotics”.

The presentation including:

  • Introduction to surgical robotics with a brief history of the developing global industry.
  • Details about the Da Vinci surgery system will be provided and its many applications in the operating room will be explored.

Presenter: Alex Furse (MHSc, PEng) is a Surgical Robotics Technical/Clinical Support and Team Manager of Canada employed by Minogue Medical Inc. Alex and his team of specialists are responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting the Da Vinci surgical robotics systems in Canada. They are also responsible for providing clinical support and training hospital staff including surgeons, nurses and reprocessing specialists.

There is $5 for administration and it is open to male and female attendees from any PEO chapter. Light refreshments will be served. There will be prize draws at the end of the presentation
