An Engineering Perspective on Climate Change
September 11, 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
What does the science really say about climate change?
How can we account for future weather in our designs?
Does this trigger any responsibilities for our profession?
What are the economic opportunities and challenges?
Come hear about climate science told from an engineering perspective, hear the latest scientific findings, and have your questions answered. This will be a two hour presentation with an intermission.
Mr. Yannick Trottier, P.Eng. holds a degree from MIT in aerospace engineering, and completed a nine-week MIT class on Climate Science. He was a co-founder of Spectral Applied Research, a high-technology startup that built the MOST space telescope and operated a LIDAR ozone observatory in the Arctic. Spectral was sold to Oxford Instruments last year. Mr. Trottier has given lectures about climate change to Chinese universities and various groups across Canada.
