The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge is a 55 km long link between three cities, a technical wonder in bridge and tunnel construction history, is the longest fixed link in the world. The engineers there have encountered lots of typical problems and many unusual problems as well. They have overcome these problems with innovations. The delegates from the Bridge Authority will share their experiences and expertise.

Bridge corrosion and concrete durability are always a major concern to bridge owners. Corrosion Engineer from Vector Corrosion, will share their expertise and experience in major bridge rehabilitation projects especially sea crossing bridges to extend service life

This technical seminar is a unique opportunity to meet an engineer and manager of this world class project. It is also a great way to learn more about the subject as well as meet other people in the chapter.

Bio of Liao Haixue, P.E., P.Eng., CP Specialist

Liao Haixue, is a professional engineer registered in New York, United States of America and Ontario, Canada. He is a qualified presenter for American National Council of Structural Engineers Associations, certified continuing education program, “Evaluation, Repair, Protection and Strengthening of Existing Concrete Structures”.

He is a NACE certified cathodic protection specialist, with extensive experience in reinforced concrete corrosion evaluation, mitigation and protection. He is also certified PTI (Post-Tensioning Institute) Level 2 Unbonded Post-Tensioning Inspector and ASBI (American Segmental Bridge Institute) Grouting Technician with 20 years experience in post-tensioning installation, evaluation and rehabilitation. He is a committee member of Post-Tensioning Institute CRT60, DC55 and DC80.
