Conference Summary

On July 19th 2022, Professional Engineers of Mississauga Chapter organized as well as performed the P.Eng. licence presentation, which focused on newly licensed members receiving their Professional Engineer Ontario certificate, at the Al Hyatt Place Centre. The Mississauga Chapter conducts two licence presentation ceremonies on an annual basis. One of these ceremonies is held in the spring and the other in fall. There were 127 people attending the event including 45 recipients. During the event, the past chair of Professional Engineering of Mississauga Chapter, vice chair and special guests explained, connected and gave brief descriptions of how the Mississauga Chapter fits within the context of Professional Engineers Ontario.

The West Central Region Councillor, Pappur Shanker, P.Eng. FEC, introduced the keynotes speakers. The first keynote speaker, Christian Bellini, P.Eng. FEC., gave a brief summary of the professional engineering head office. The second keynote speaker, David Tyndall, P.Eng, did an amazing job talking about the Ontario Power Generation and the Small Modular Reactors. The third keynote speaker, Steve Dillon, P.Eng. Did an astonishing job presenting one of the world’s leading consulting and engineering company wood. The fourth keynote speaker was the honourable mayor of Mississauga, Bonnie Crombie, MBA, ICD.D, who congratulated all the newly license engineers and wished them all the best for their future.

PEO-MC celebrates Professional engineering Ontario’s centennial with all Mississauga Chapter executives, special guests and the honourable mayor of Mississauga. Since 1922, PEO has done an outstanding job serving and protecting the public’s interest by dealing and persevering standards in the practice of engineering.

Congratulations! Each of you has successfully met the demanding standards of the Professional Engineering License. We are proud to help you celebrate your splendid achievement. Our best wishes extend to all those graduates who could not join us for the ceremony. Today marks the beginning of a new and lasting relationship with the Professional Engineers of Ontario as you become a fully licensed member and a registered engineer. With best wishes for the future, we welcome you and invite you to partake in the Mississauga Chapter activities.
