The Mississauga Chapter of Professional Engineers Ontario was proud to support Tomken Road Middle School students in the LEGOLAND® North American Open FLL Tournament. This is a Lego Robotics event where students design, build and program a robot to solve various challenges.

Tomken Road Middle School’s First Lego League team Addi2de traveled to Legoland in Carlsbad, California over the Victoria Day long weekend.

After completing qualifying regional tournaments in Brampton and provincial finals at the University of Waterloo, Tomken Road Middle School’s team Addi2de was 1 of 3 teams representing Canada at the Legoland North American Open where a total of 77 teams competed for a range of 16 different award categories (click here).

After several rounds of robotics competitions, presentations of the team’s core values and their ADD / ADHD product concept, the team was awarded with the Gracious Professionalism Award, which was created by a Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Professor of Mechanical Engineering. Of the 3 teams representing Canada, team Addi2de was the only Canadian team to receive an award at the robotics tournament.
