PEO Mississauga Seminar, “The Path to Becoming a Professional Engineer” hosted by the LAP Committee
On May 13, 2024, the PEO Mississauga Licensing Assistance Program (LAP) Committee hosted an event entitled “The Path to Becoming a Professional Engineer”.
The event featured a presentation by two speakers from the PEO head office:
Tracey Caruana, P.Eng., Manager for Engineering Intern Programs at PEO will provide information on how engineering graduates can be guided and get support on their pathway to licensure. In addition, Tracey oversees PEO’s legacy EIT Program, Student
Membership Program, and the 30 by 30 initiative. Prior to joining PEO, Tracey worked at Hatch Ltd. for 9 years gaining exposure to numerous projects within the mining industry.
Sami Lamrad, P.Eng., is an EIT and Student Program Coordinator. He is currently facilitating the Engineering Intern Program and Student Membership program as part of PEO’s External Relations. Prior to PEO Sami worked in environmental consulting designing and commissioning data acquisition systems (DAS) for continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS).
During the presentation, Tracey and Sami provided updates about the new licensing process, application requirements, and timelines, shared insights and answered audience questions.
The seminar drew approximately 70 Participants.
