Unleashing Potential: Making the Most of Your Culturally Diverse Team
The Equity and Diversity Committee (EDC) of the Mississauga Chapter of Professional Engineers Ontario presents:
Today’s workplaces are increasingly diverse: in a typical organization in 2018, you will find yourself working with people with many different backgrounds and experiences. Research shows that culturally diverse teams can generate better ideas and yield a greater financial return. But for diverse organizations to achieve their full potential, they also need to be inclusive.
Everyone has a part to play in building an inclusive work environment. So how do you get started? In this interactive and informative workshop, you will learn some key strategies for effectively navigating cultural differences and working productively in a diverse team. We will be looking at how to better manage and collaborate with colleagues in team meetings to achieve performance outcomes and team goals.
Presenters: Rachel Crowe, Manager, TMP Learning Projects, and Anna Kostecka, Senior Manager, Learning Initiatives, Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC).

They support organizations to become more culturally inclusive, and help newcomers expand their professional networks and understand the local labour market. They collaborate with leaders and organizations to build a GTA where immigrant professionals can contribute to their fullest potential. TRIEC is happy to share the expertise built through its 10 years’ journey with members of PEO Mississauga Chapter.
