Sherry will talk about the Canadarm and some of its unique requirements regarding safety, launching, landing, thermal environment, and structure. She will provide some of the technological background involved in the finite element analysis, first using Stardyne and then Nastran.

She will present the three Canadian space robots. She worked on other space projects, including Olympus, a European satellite development, and Radarsat 1.

Presenter: Sherry Draisey, P.Eng., Good Vibrations Engineering Ltd.

Sherry worked as a structural engineer at SPAR Aerospace and became manager of the Structures
Group for the Canadian Space Station program.
